Requirements & Eligibility Guidelines

Program Basics

Teen Challenge is a 12-month faith-based residential rehabilitation program. We do not adhere to the disease model of treatment, but rather advocate an abstinence faith-based approach. We define successful treatment in terms of total abstinence from the use of alcohol and illicit drugs and the abuse of legal drugs. We are a nicotine-free environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Life-controlling substance abuse problem
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Commitment to a 12-month program
  • Evidence of a sincere desire for help
  • Willingness to consider a faith-based approach
  • Ability to participate fully in regular physical activities
  • Do not have schizophrenia or bi-polar disorders
  • Do not have full blown AIDS, cancer, or tuberculosis
  • Do not have outstanding warrants
  • Not on parole
  • Not listed in the National Sex Offender Registry

What Else You Are Expected To Provide

  • Photo ID
  • Health card and number
  • Medical check and blood tests (Download PDF Forms: Men's  /  Women's)
  • Criminal Check
  • Time to have an assessment interview, in person, or by phone
  • Application payment fee of $100 (Can be paid later)

What you can expect upon entry to Teen Challenge

  • Immediate removal of all addictive substances (including cigarettes)
  • Daily structured program
  • Limited off-property privileges (passes can be earned)
  • Limited outside contact (phone, internet)
